The tables below outline the pricing for all the products available through the Better Energy Banyule program.

Pricing provided is for standard installations. Your tailored quote may include extra fees for variations such as extended wiring or required switchboard upgrades (prices vary depending on the situation). These prices below show both before and after the maximum amount of rebates are claimed – Please check your individual eligibility for each rebate with our vetted suppliers. Prices are likely to vary across different households.

Applicable rebates are included at the bottom of this page. 

Hot Water Heat Pump

The prices below represent packages inclusive of a Reclaim hot water heat pump installation. Your tailored quote may include extra fees for variations such as extended wiring or required switchboard upgrades (prices vary depending on the situation). YEF is always on hand to talk through these costs and ensure transparency.

The ‘Potential Price After Rebates’ is after the maximum number of rebates have been claimed. Prices will very across households depending on rebate eligibility and your current product being replaced. 

Applicable rebates:

On top of the heavily discounted prices that Council and YEF have secured for this program, when purchasing a Reclaim heat pump you may be eligible for multiple Government and council rebates of up to $4,346

Victorian Energy Efficiency Certificates (VEECs) – Up to $1,320

Small-scale Technology Certificates (STCs) – Up to $1,026

Solar Victoria Solar Hot Water Rebate – $1,000

Banyule City Council Rebate – Up to $1,000

It is very important to note, that due to the Reclaim heat pumps excellent efficiency, the payback period can be as low as 2 years, depending on your current system and electricity prices.

Split System Air Conditioners

The prices below represent the different packages inclusive of either a Mitsubishi or Fujitsu split system installation.

Applicable rebates:

On top of the great prices that Council and YEF have secured for this program, when purchasing a Mitsubishi or Fujitsu split system you may be eligible for multiple Government and council rebates of up to $3,640.

Victorian Energy Efficiency Certificates (VEECs) – Up to $1,640

Solar Victoria Home Heating and Cooling Upgrades Program – $1,000

Banyule City Council Rebate – Up to $1,000

Induction Cooktops

The prices below represent the different model and size options available through this program, inclusive of Westinghouse, Euro Appliances, Artusi, and Omega.

On top of the great prices that Council and YEF have secured for this program, when purchasing an induction cooktop you may be eligible for council rebates of up to $1,000.

Which Rebates Am I Eligible For?

Victorian households are eligible to receive several Government rebates to replace electric or gas water heaters and air conditioning units. Discounts/rebates will vary between households. Banyule City Council are also offering further rebates to eligible households.

Victorian Energy Efficiency Certificates (VEECs)

To be eligible to upgrade your hot water system and get a discount/rebate, you must:

  • be a Victorian household
  • have an inefficient electric or gas hot water system or air conditioning unit(s)

The final price will depend on several factors, including:

  • certificate price
  • type of product
  • the number of products replaced
  • location
  • installation costs
  • administrative costs by accredited providers.

Small-scale Technology Certificates (STCs)

A STC (Small-scale Technology Certificate) is equal to one megawatt hour (MWh) of electricity generated or displaced by a solar hot water, heat pump, solar PV, small wind or micro-hydro system. STCs can be traded for a monetary value.

Your supplier/installer will automatically add this discount on your invoice.

Solar Victoria Solar Hot Water Rebate

Solar Victoria are now offering a 50% rebate of up to $1,000 on eligible solar hot water and heat pump hot water systems.

You are eligible this rebate if:

  • you are the owner-occupier of the property
  • you have a combined household taxable income of less than $180,000 per year (based on your Australian Tax Office Notice of Assessment)
  • you have not already received a solar battery rebate or a solar hot water rebate under the Solar Homes Program
  • you live in an existing property, valued at under $3 million
  • your current hot water system is at least three years old from the date of purchase
  • the solar (or heat pump) hot water system is on the Solar Homes program approved products list

Note: The current wait time of SolarVic approval is ~5 weeks from application. To speed up your installation process and rebate reimbursement, YEF and Reclaim advise that you apply for your Solar Victoria Hot Water Rebate at the same time as registering your interest in this program. 

Solar Victoria Home Heating and Cooling Rebate

Solar Victoria offer $1,000 for you to upgrade to an energy-efficient heating and cooling system.

You must have:

  • a valid concession card, or
  • a combined household income below $90,000

And your old system must be:

  • a gas, electric or wood heater, or
  • a reverse-cycle air conditioner more than 7 years old
  • replaced with a reverse-cycle air conditioner from the approved products list
  • upgraded by an approved supplier

All products offered in this program are on the approved product list and will be installed by an approved supplier.

Banyule City Council Rebate

Banyule City Council will provide a one-off rebate for each Banyule household of 60% of your out of pocket costs, up to $1,000, for a limited time only until the rebate allocation is exhausted. Banyule City Council only have budget for a limited amount of these rebates, so early registration will improve your chances on receiving this extra subsidy.

The rebate is applied to only one product upgrade.

This is in recognition of the premium level products offered in this bulk buy program to ensure maximum efficiency and sufficient warranties.

To be eligible for this rebate, you must meet the following criteria:

  • are not an employee of Banyule City Council
  • your house is valued at under $2,000,000
  • you have not participated in the 2022/23 round of the ‘BetterScore’ program
  • agree to sharing future energy bills for further reporting on the program
