The Yarra Energy Foundation was established by Yarra City Council in 2010.

Yarra City Council continues to provide the core funding critical to our activities as an independent not-for-profit.

We work with local governments across Australia.

We set up solar and energy efficiency programs for their residents and businesses, and support their sustainability teams with extra energy expertise when and how they need it.

Through partnerships with businesses across Australia, we can help customers, staff, members or clients access better energy too.

Our independent experts can create bespoke services supporting households or businesses big and small. That could include solar and batteries, fixing buildings, or buying green power, through Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), brokering better energy deals or assisting with Environmental Upgrade Agreements. 

We’ve also worked with many businesses across Australia to help with solar and energy efficiency upgrades and support their sustainability goals with extra energy expertise when and how they need it.

We look to partner with other not-for-profits who, like us, are on a mission towards zero-emissions energy, and on making sure no one is left behind. Our energy expertise can contribute to simple solutions or grand plans – that we work with you to deliver in partnership.

We are a campaign partner for the Healthy Homes for Renters initiative, a national campaign advocating governments to establish basic minimum energy efficiency standards for rental homes.
